The International Coaching Enrichment Certification Program (ICECP) has recently graduated its 10th cohort of high performing coaches from across the world.
Since 2007 the ICECP, a joint endeavor between the US Olympic Committee and the University of Delaware and funded by Olympic Solidarity, has educated and trained over 250 coaches, from 5 continents, countless countries and all Summer Olympic sports.
The program begins each year in Delaware in October with a five-week residential program during which coaches learn about the art, science and application of coaching. Coaches are then challenged to take their learning back to their own countries and apply this through the design, delivery and evaluation of a work-based project. After a six month time investment coaches return to Lausanne, the home of the International Olympic Committee to share their impact stories.
I am proud and humbled to have worked with the most amazing coaches over the last 7 years supporting and guiding their work. This year was no exception, having the opportunity to work with German Medina from Columbia (BMX), Summera Sattir from Pakistan (Basketball), Farhana Hallim from Bangladesh (Judo) and Dema Wangchuk from Bhutan (Taekwondo). All coaches have created and delivered coaching development programs with great success.
Perhaps the greatest honor has been the opportunity to work with the most amazing group of tutors and mentors. To Carolina, Matt, Jeff, Josep, Peter, Tracey, Barb, Nadine and Andrew the photo bomber I thank you for enabling me to join this most amazing family.
