The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has officially launched the second iteration of the ASPIRE Assistant Women’s Coach Development Program, building on the success of its inaugural year and e.t.c coaching consultants is delighted to partner with them to lead this ground breaking growth program.
Liz Robertshaw, IWLCA Executive Director commented that:
“The ASPIRE Program is a testament to what happens when we invest in people. Last year’s cohort set the bar incredibly high, and building on that momentum, we’re excited to welcome an even larger group of talented women into a program that’s shaping the next generation of coaches. ASPIRE isn’t just about building skills—it’s about creating a community where coaches feel supported, inspired, and ready to leave their mark on women’s lacrosse. That’s the legacy we’re building together.”
Thanks to IWLCA’s confidence and investment, this year the program has grown to welcome 30 assistant women’s coaches, divided into two dynamic new cohorts

and Elevate

A True Blended Learning Experience
Across the next four months coaches will take part in a structured and varied learning journey, mixing formats for maximum impact:
Online Courses – Build key coaching knowledge at their own pace
Group Webinars – Explore ideas and share experiences in real time
Individual Mentoring – Get tailored support for their goals
In-Person Workshop – Connect face-to-face at the IWLCA Convention in November
All online learning is delivered through MiMentor, our trusted digital partner, whose interactive platform enables coaches to access content, connect with peers, and track their progress throughout the program.
Community is further built through ongoing conversations in both the full program group and individual cohorts via GroupMe, fostering support and connection every step of the way.
Four Key Themes for Growth
The program is logically structured around four core themes:
Laying the foundations for growth
Developing Oneself
Working With Others
Continuing Your Coaching Journey
By the program’s conclusion, each participant will have created a Professional Development Plan (PDP)—a practical, personalised roadmap to guide their coaching journey.
A Powerful Kick-Off
On 12 August, the program began with an energetic welcome webinar focused on connection and community. Coaches met their fellow participants and:
Reflected on the question “What does my future self look like?”
Explored a rhythm for working
Considered their needs and wants
Proudly selected names for their cohorts—A2I and Elevate
Looking Ahead
The energy from the very first session has set the tone for what promises to be an inspiring journey. Over the coming months, participants will not only deepen their coaching knowledge and skills, but also build a powerful network of peers who challenge, support, and celebrate each other’s growth.
As the program unfolds, these 30 women will put their learning into action—on the field, within their teams, and across the wider lacrosse community. By November, they will arrive at the IWLCA Convention ready to share their progress, reflect on their journeys, and take the next steps in their careers with clarity and confidence.
We can’t wait to watch these remarkable women grow, lead, and inspire—not only in their own programs, but across the entire women’s lacrosse community.
