In recent years, USA Archery has engineered a significant shift in its coaching philosophy, moving towards a more athlete-centered approach. e.t.c coaching consultants is proud to have supported this journey at several key points along the way.
Under the intentional leadership of Guy Krueger and, more recently, Kyle Bissel (Education and Training Manager), USA Archery has made significant investments in the education and training of its Coach Trainer workforce, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to lead this change.
In addition to this, USA Archery has evolved its coaching curriculum across Levels 1 through 4. This transformation has introduced contemporary coaching tools and techniques, enabling coaches to take a more athlete-centered approach and support the holistic development of each athlete and archer. To enhance learning, USA Archery has provided both virtual and in-person workshops for certified coaches, encouraging new ways of thinking and being.
In September 2024, USA Archery welcomed over 30 coaches—nearly an equal split of men and women—from Levels 1 to 4 to Colorado Springs.
This workshop focused on creating athlete-centered training plans and exploring advanced coaching techniques, such as the 3B Expanded Pathway and NTS Movement Analysis Funnel. Led by Kyle Bissell, LaNola Shepherd (Interim US National Team Coach), and Sarah McQuade, Day 1 introduced critical concepts and tools, while Day 2 provided an opportunity for coaches to apply their learning through exploration, practice, and reflection.
USA Archery continues to push the boundaries of coaching excellence, reinforcing its commitment to developing the whole athlete through a thoughtful, athlete-centered approach.
