This summer, USTA New England made a powerful statement: women coaches matter.
At their recent Coaches Symposium, held at Babson College, a dedicated women’s coaching session brought together over 20 women from across the New England region. They represented High Schools, Universities, Parks & Rec., and Clubs. Their playing and coaching backgrounds were diverse—ranging from former Division I athletes and coaches to passionate recreational players and coaches —but what united them was an open mind, a desire to grow, and a shared passion for the game.

The session was co-delivered by Linda Low, senior consultant at e.t.c coaching consultants and Program Director for the Women in Sports High-Performance (WISH) Pathway, and Sarah McQuade, Director of e.t.c coaching consultants.
Together, we created a space for connection, courage, and curiosity—encouraging participants to reflect on the spaces and places they coach in, and the often invisible presence of women within them.
Together, the group explored:
The power of connection as a female coaching network
How confidence and courage show up in their work
Their values, coaching identities, and leadership approaches
The workshop ran high on interaction, collaboration, reflection, honest discussion and problem-solving.
As a closing activity, coaches engaged with the GROW model to reflect on a current issue, challenge, or opportunity they wanted to navigate to grow as professionals.
This was more than a session—it was a spark. A reminder that when women coaches connect, share, and support one another, they are truly #StrongerTogether and #Unstoppable.
