The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in partnership with the University of Delaware are this week hosting the NSCAA Master Coach and Soccer Leaders course in Delaware. This is the first module of a four module course which culminates at the national conference in January 2017 in Los Angeles. The course challenges coaches to transfer their learning from theory to practice via the delivery of a project back in their own coaching space.
e.t.c were thrilled to be asked to deliver a workshop on Coach Mentoring. The aim of the workshop was to enable coaches to consider how they could position mentoring as a coach development tool to support both formal learning opportunities and provide supported practice in the field.
Coaches were given the opportunity to:
consider how adults learn
explore and practice key stages of the mentoring process with their peers acting as coaches
identify how they would monitor and evaluate coach learning.
